Churchmead School is today celebrating a record-breaking set of GCSE results. The school maintains very good results in English and maths, with many outstanding grades in both subjects. A continuing upward trajectory in key subjects, including science, paints a very encouraging picture as results show a significant improvement on previous years.   Humanities subjects continue to flourish with excellent outcomes in Geography, History, RE, Spanish and other languages. Churchmead School takes exceptional pride in the artistic talents of their students, which shone through particularly in the Photography and Drama results. Vocational subjects including Enterprise, BTEC Sport and Digital Information Technology have produced some exceptional outcomes, showcasing some of the very talented young people in the cohort.   

Special mention must be given to some of the highest achievers this year, including Bushra Syeda on obtaining 9 grade 9’s and two grade 8’s, Rose Wordham on achieving, six grade 9’s, two grade 8’s and a Distinction*, Ellie Wordham on achieving six grade 9’s, three grade 8’sand a Distinction*. 

Commenting on the results Chris Tomes, Headteacher at Churchmead School said “We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our students in this exam season. They have shown determination and perseverance and always remained 100% committed to achieving their best in their GCSE’s. I wish them well as they continue into their studies, apprenticeships and other destinations. We look forward to welcoming returning students and new students into our 6th Form in September.” 
 
A member of the Student Leadership Team, Bushra Syeda, said upon receiving her results “I am delighted with my results and I would like to thank Churchmead School for being such a fantastic school in supporting me in my studies.”
