We were delighted to be invited to showcase our Food Tech skills again at the annual Ascot Bake Off last term. Students from schools across Slough, Bracknell, Reading and RBWM competed in a baking challenge, with this years theme being “Honey”.
Students were asked to design, bake, decorate and present their creations along with a mood board documenting their journey from sourcing local ingredients to final presentation.
Our three Year 7 students made it through all the heats to arrive in the final held at Royal Ascot Racecourse. Although the judges were impressed with our submission, particularly using honey from bees kept by a fellow Churchmead student, we sadly didn’t win a prize this time.
Congratulations to Nathan, Alisha and Alfie for all of their hard work.
