Our Business Studies students enjoyed an interactive visit to Cadbury World in Birmingham this term, where they explored the fascinating journey of chocolate from bean to bar. The day included a tour through the history of Cadbury and how the business began, live demonstrations showing how chocolate is made, opportunities for students to create their own chocolate, sample melted chocolate and choosing their own toppings and an exciting 4D cinema experience.
Students also took part in an engaging business investigation session, demonstrating excellent curiosity by asking thoughtful questions and actively contributing to discussions.
They explored a range of important business concepts, including:
The influence of the Quaker values on Cadbury's development, marketing, commerce, legal compliance, ethics and stakeholder responsibilities, how multinational companies adapt products for different countries and markets, fairtrade practices and the importance of paying farmers fairly. Students were engaged and enjoyed the day, asking some very sensible questions and taking part in activities.
